In 1980, I entered Hiram College in Ohio
as a freshman. After attending the school for only a few months, I
decided that I wanted to major in philosophy. I had some really great
teachers, but, there was a real longing inside of me to get to know the
truth about everything. One day in my sophomore year, I had had a
particularly lively discussion with a professor of mine on this very
topic -- truth. I remember him saying, "Sometimes the journey is better
than the destination. After all, if we did find the truth, what would we
do with it? It would mean the end of all academic pursuit, and then what
would we do? Life would be boring!"
Something about that just didn't sit right
with me. So, I went out onto the campus square and prayed, "God, I
know You exist. Please help me to find the Truth about You."
A week or so later, I was attending the
American Philosophical Association Convention in Columbus, Ohio. As
we went to register, there was a long table of books and brochures
on a wide variety of topics. I was sort of disinterestedly looking
at them, but immediately picked up a booklet entitled "How is it we
Live After Death, and What is the Meaning of Life" by a man named
Richard Steinpach (you can now receive this as an audio CD by
requesting it from
www.grailaudio.org).
After reading this booklet, I was very interested in the main work
it references -- In the Light of Truth, The Grail Message.
I soon ordered this book,
and now, nearly 25 years later, I am still reading in it regularly.
The book is inexhaustible! As my life changes and different
circumstances come up, more of the book becomes understandable. The
author stresses that we must go out and TEST and EXPERIENCE his
teachings, otherwise they are worthless. Anyone who puts in this
effort is richly rewarded.
The book was definitely ahead of its time. For
instance, the movie The Secret is making all kinds of waves,
and the Grail Message revealed this Law of Attraction as one of
three major Creation Laws already in the 1930s. There is just so
much in this work, and there is much more as you deepen and mature
spiritually.

Climbing up
on Solsbury Hill
I could see the city light
Wind was blowing, time stood still
Eagle flew out of the night
He was something to observe
Came in close, I heard a voice
Standing stretching every nerve
Had to listen had no choice
I did not believe the information
[I] just had to trust imagination
My heart going boom boom boom
"Son," he said "Grab your things,
I've come to take you home."
To keepin' silence I resigned
My friends would think I was a nut
Turning water into wine
Open doors would soon be shut
So I went from day to day
Tho' my life was in a rut
"Till I thought of what I'd say
Which connection I should cut
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
<Back home.>
When illusion spin her net
I'm never where I want to be
And liberty she pirouette
When I think that I am free
Watched by empty silhouettes
Who close their eyes but still can see
No on taught them etiquette
I will show another me
Today I don't need a replacement
I'll tell them what the smile on my face meant
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" I said "You can keep my things,
they've come to take me home."
